Radio Science Orchestra Return to Mars on 17 June

Bruce Woolley and his Radio Science Orchestra will be providing retro-futuristic backing for a reading by Welcome to Mars author Ken Hollings on 17 June at the British Library as part of its Out of This World science fiction festival.

The retro-space sound of the Radio Science Orchestra featuring theremin and other futuristic instruments is the brainchild of Bruce Woolley, the phenomenally talented writer and producer of everything from Video Killed The Radio Star (The Buggles) to Slave To The Rhythm (Grace Jones) and A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld (The Orb).  Tonight’s special show is entitled Return To Mars and features the visionary SF musings of writer Ken Hollings.

Also on the bill will be ambient electronica from Global Communications and DJ Rob Da Bank.

And on 28 June Mark Pilkington joins Monsters director Gareth Edwards, Dr David Clarke, Brian Appleyard and others to discuss Aliens and the Imagination.
