Born Under Sputnik, Thursday 4 October

This week sees the 50th anniversary of the launch of Sputnik 1, and even if Telstar got the better theme tune, we still believe it’s worth commemorating.

That’s why at 8pm this Thursday, 4 October, Resonance FM will be broadcasting Born Under Sputnik, a live discussion about the silver sphere and it’s impact on the 20th century featuring Sputnikheads Ken Hollings and Thomas Dolby, with appropriate background sounds selected by Mark Pilkington. The show was produced by Bruce and Kitt Woolley at Unit X and will be aired at 8pm UT on 104.4fm in London, or via the Resonance FM web site.

Ken, Thomas and Bruce’s Radio Science Orchestra will also be appearing at a special live event the previous day, Wednesday 3rd October, at the ICA in London. The event seems to be sold out.
