First and Furthermost

So after several months the blogging begins…

Initially I want to thank Dave Walsh of Blather for setting up the software (yes, I know you did it in August!) and Gyrus for tweaking it this week to look the part. And of course SA co-founder John Lundberg for setting up the site in the first place.

So why is this happening? (As a Turkish bar owner in Dalston asked, while Lightning Bolt let rip on his premises last week).

Further is intended to be a living extension of the Strange Attractor site, the Journal and our live events.

It will be a place to announce things that we are doing, as well as our friends and allies; place pointers to online articles that piqued my interest; present photographs and observations by myself and others; review books, films, music and events.

All sorts basically. There won’t be a clockwork schedule for new material, but I’ll try to get new posts uploaded regularly. At least more often than the Journal is published. More on which at a later date… The regular Strange Attractor emails will continue to announce our own news, but Further postings will occur independently of that.

Your own contributions are most welcome – please email any comments, correspondence and Further submissions to further_@_strangeattractor.co.uk.

To the left you’ll find links to SA friends and allies. These will grow naturally over time, but please don’t email to ask me to include your site, as there won’t be room for more than a handful.

Also to the left is a random selection of images from my Flickr online photo collection. This is updated fairly regularly, mostly with my photos from gigs that I’ve attended, recently Sunburned Hand of the Man and a number of acts at The Nightmare Before Xmas at Camber Sands. I’ll try to write reviews to accompany some of them, or link to reviews written elsewhere.

Finally, I’d like to dedicate Further’s launch to two friends who have made their final journeys in the past month; John Balance of Coil, who fell down the stairs, and my pal, Foot Foot, felled by a wheel. May they warm each other in soulspace.

And thanks to you for supporting Strange Attractor.
