Tracing the Tyburn

Tom Bolton, author of our forthcoming title London’s Lost Rivers: A Walker’s Guide, will be taking a walk along the route of the lost River Tyburn on Wednesday 13 July.

Led by Tom and Andrew Stuck from the Museum of Walking, the walk will start outside Baker Street tube station at 6.15pm and follow the Tyburn’s route through Marylebone, the West End and Westminster. Tom and Andrew will point out where traces of the river can still be seen, and talk about some of the landmarks, people and events that have occurred along its route throughout history.

You can find out more about the event here. Tom’s book is out on Strange Attractor Press in September, documenting eight of London’s Lost Rivers with evocative polaroid photos by SF Said. Stay tuned for more walking events over the summer and autumn.
