An evening of talks, experiments and music exploring methods of seducing spiders, hosted by artist Eleanor Morgan in collaboration with Entomologist Peter Smithers and experimental musicians Oort (Richard Guest, Zali Krishna, Ellen McGee and Mark Pilkington).
We will investigate spider courtship and mating, spiders’ attraction to music, and the history of spider silk spinning machines. The evening will include a rare screening of the 1966 spider documentary ‘Walk into the Parlour’, directed by Gerald Thompson.
